Puerto Rican artist Jose Antonio Torres Martino studied at the University of Puerto Rico and after receiving a scholarship studied at the Pratt Institute, the Brooklyn Museum School, and the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. After returning to Puerto Rico, Torres Martino was one of the founders of Center for Puerto Rican Art, the president of the Puerto Rican Association of Performance Artists and Technicians, and was Director of the Graphics Workshop at the University of Puerto Rico. Torres Martino is the author of several books.
