One of the most important abstract painters of the last century, Robert Natkin studied at the Art Institute of Chicago. Influenced by post-impressionism and the abstract expressionists, Robert Natkin's work shows elements of abstract expressionism, lyrical abstraction, and color field painting. Included in the Young America show at the Whitney Museum in 1960, Natkin's work has been included in countless major exhibitions since, including a retrospective at the San Francisco Museum of Art.
