Nura Ulreich
American
1899-1950

Nura was a well-known painter, printmaker, and children's book author. She studied at the Kansas City Art Institute and the Art Student's League. Nura exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Corcoran Gallery, Salons of America, and the Society of Indpendent Artists. In addition she was the author and illustrator of several popular children's books. Nura's work is in the Smithsonian, the Frick Collection, and the Walker Art Center. She and her husband, artist Edward Buk Ulreich, painted several murals for the WPA.
