Krasner American 1908-1984 Lee Krasner, an important abstract expressionist artist, studied at Cooper Union and the National Academy of Design during the late 1920s and early '30s. During the depression she worked with the Federal Art Project, studied with Hans Hoffman, and became allied with New York School abstractionists. She married Jackson Pollock in 1945, who, for many years, overshadowed Krasner's career. Today, Krasner is regarded as a significant member of the abstract expressionist movement and an important figure in the development of 20th century American art. SOLD |
