W. Wilson

John Woodrow
Wilson, renowned artist, printmaker, and teacher, studied at
the Museum School in Boston, winning a Traveling Scholarship
in the 1940s. His prints, often lithographs depicting the mid-century
struggles of African-Americans, were widely exhibited and earned
Wilson early fame. He exhibited at the Library of Congress, the
Mirski Gallery in Boston, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the
Museum of Modern Art, and countless other venues, winning numerous
prizes. His work is in major public and private collections.
Wilson taught at Boston University for many years. An impression
of this print was included in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston's
1994 Exhibition "Dialogue: John Wilson/Joseph Norman."
