Johan Christoph Lischka (Jan Kristof Liska), a Czechoslavakian artist, was an important Baroque painter and draughtsman. Lischka studied with his stepfather Michael Willmann (1630-1706), traveling to Italy and throughout Bohemia and Germany. Johan Christoph Lischka was known primarily for his murals and altar paintings with important works in churches and monasteries in Bohemia and Germany. His "The Assumption" hangs in the National Gallery in Prague.
