Grinnell Thomson

Old Lyme,
Connecticut impressionist Henry Grinnell Thomson studied privately
in New York with William Merritt Chase. He was a frequent exhibitor
at the National Academy of Design, the Pennsylvania Academy of
Fine Art, the Salmagundi Club, and the Society of Independent
Artists. Thomson was a member of the Silvermine Guild. This painting
is a rare California scene (Thomson painted in California and
Alaska at the turn of the century).
