Chavez

Edward
(Eduardo) Chavez studied in Colorado Springs with Frank Mechau
and Boardman Robinson. Chavez became an important figure in the
New Deal art movement, painting murals in Texas, Nebraska, and
Colorado. In 1949, he became the chairman of the Woodstock Art
Association. He exhibited widely, including at the National Academy
of Design, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Library of Congress,
and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. His work is in major public
collections.
