Asah was a Kiowa Indian from Oklahoma and a member of the famous
"Kiowa Five." The Kiowa Five were a group of Native
American artists who were on the forefront of the development
of traditional indian painting. In the 1920s, their work gained
international renown. In addition to tempera paintings, often
featuring traditional dances, Asah painted murals in Oklahoma
and Washington D.C. Asah's work is extremely rare.
