Conger Metcalf
American
1914-1998
Conger Metcalf studied at Coe College in Iowa and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Influenced by Marvin Cone, the Boston Expressionists, and Italian Renaissance painting, Metcalf developed a unique style that earned him international accolades. A member of the Copley Society, Metcalf taught at Boston University in the 1960s and '70s.
